Honda Malaysia is set to introduce telematics-related features to its cars very soon. The company has just uploaded a short teaser video for Honda Connect – the company’s vehicle telematics mobile app.
Vehicle telematics are functions related to vehicle tracking. By incorporating mobile data services into the car, today’s telematics services allow owners to not just track the vehicle, but also to remotely control and check certain functions of the vehicle, and for the vehicle to also make emergency calls if the car is involved in a severe accident.

The Honda Connect service has been deployed in Thailand since 2018 and is fitted on selected Honda models.
The service is expected to make its local debut alongside the all-new 2020 Honda City’s launch, which is expected to take place next month.
The service is not new in the B-segment. UMW Toyota Motor for example, already offers its VTS (Vehicle Telematics System) feature as a RM 2,000 option to buyers of the Toyota Vios.
