Honda Malaysia announced today that it has achieved its annual sales target for 2023, surpassing 80,000 units in total sales. This accomplishment marks the tenth consecutive year that Honda Malaysia has retained its No.1 position in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment since 2014.
The year 2023 witnessed gradual recovery and a positive outlook, with the launches of four new models in the second half of the year: WR-V, City facelift, Civic Type R, and the all-new CR-V.
Top selling Honda models in Malaysia 2023
The top-selling models in 2023 were the City, HR-V, and City Hatchback, contributing 30%, 25%, and 13%, respectively to the company's overall sales. Additionally, the WR-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Civic secured the No.1 position in their respective segments.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura, acknowledged the challenging market conditions in 2023 but expressed gratitude to dealers, the Malaysian Government, and Honda customers for their unwavering support.
ā2023 proved to be a challenging year where we faced a competitive market. However, Honda Malaysia managed to overcome and achieved our sales target in 2023 with strong support from our dealers and the Malaysian Government," he said.

A significant factor in Honda Malaysia's success in 2023 was the launch of the WR-V in July. The small SUV, particularly the RS variant, received an overwhelming response, constituting 60% of total sales. The WR-V sold over 7,800 units within the first six months of launch.
Hybrid model sales (e:HEV) also saw substantial growth, increasing from over 4,100 units in 2022 to more than 7,700 units in 2023 ā a remarkable 87% growth. These e:HEV models contributed 28% to overall hybrid sales in Malaysia in 2023.
The company is optimistic about the automotive sector in 2024, anticipating another exciting year for the industry.
