UMWT wants you to cross realms! Confirms Toyota Corolla Cross launch in new teaser
The last time UMW Toyota (UMWT) released a teaser of their upcoming launch happening on 25 March 2021, there was no mention of what car it would be. Now, the company has released yet another teaser pretty much confirming it is the 2021 Toyota Corolla Cross.
Previously, the teaser asked users “Why settle for less?”, seemingly a direct shot at the Honda HR-V that has dominated the SUV market for years. But nothing in this teaser hinted at the Corolla Cross yet.

Now the new teaser comes with heavy hints of the SUV. Not only does it feature the silhouette of the SUV it also asks users if they are “Ready to cross to a realm of new possibilities?” Could UMWT be hinting to cross over to Toyota from Honda?
When the Corolla Cross makes its official arrival in Malaysia, the SUV will go up against the Proton X70, Honda HR-V, and Subaru XV.
The Corolla Cross will be locally assembled (CKD) at Toyota’s Bukit Raja plant. But early units will come as fully imported models (CBU) from Thailand. These CBU units were previously spied at Westport, Klang.
