After months of spyshots and leaked photos, the new 2020 Toyota Hilux facelift will be launched on 4th June, which is this coming Thursday.
Changes to the updated Hilux include a revised exterior design that sees the model receiving a restyled front-end and rear-end. The updated Hilux is also expected to receive a bump in power, as the current model’s 2.8-litre engine output figures trails the all-new Isuzu D-Max.
Apart from the revised exterior design and improved output figures, the updated Hilux could receive the addition of the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite – something that was lacking in the outgoing model.
For the first-time ever, a sportier Hilux GR Sport could be introduced as well, likely positioned as the range-topping variant.
The alleged Hilux GR Sport was first seen back in May, fuelling speculations that Toyota will be extending the GR Sport range to include the Hilux.
What about Malaysia?
As much as we hope for a 2020 debut in Malaysia, an early-2021 debut is more likely, given the current situation we're in.
