New 2020 Toyota Fortuner facelift - 204 PS and 500 Nm, Malaysia launch in 2021?

Toyota has officially launched the new facelifted Toyota Fortuner in Thailand. It now adds a Legender variant that comes with a more powerful 204 PS and 500 Nm engine. 

Entry Variant of the Fortuner 

Power Train- 27 PS  and 500 Nm

Similar to the new Hilux, the new 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine in the Legender variant has been upgraded to 204 PS and 500 Nm (27 PS more than before) delivers 1,600 - 2,800 rpm is available in both 2WD and 4WD.

The 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine remains the same power as before. 

Exterior- Headlights and front, rear bumpers.

The headlights now feature Dual Projector LEDs, in addition to front-back signal indicators with sequential LEDs.

A new design is given to the grille along with a new front bumper, side-steps, rear bumper, and tail-lights, which is designed with LED Light Guides in mind.

Wheels now come with redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels as standard on the Entry Variant and 20-inch for the Legender.

Interior- A newly designed electronic instrument cluster, touchscreen, wireless charging and Apple CarPlay

The 8-inch touchscreen that was present in the previous Fortuner will be upgraded to a 9-inch, with additional support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional features for the interior include wireless charging for front passengers and two USB charging ports behind. 

Passenger comfort includes auto dimming rear-view mirrors and ambient lights for the cabin. Only featured in the Legender, are two-tone black and white leather seats. 

Smart Features for the car include the implementation of a Kick Door system in the trunk lid, and 360-degree panoramic camera. 

Saftey- Toyota Saftey Sense is avaliable 

Also included is the Toyota Safety Sense suite of advanced driving aids, including pre-collision system, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Tracing Assist, Variable Automatic Speed โ€‹โ€‹Control System and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Malaysia release? 

No further details on introduction in Malaysia are available yet. Note that our Toyota Fortuner is locally-assembled in Shah Alam, so expect some delay the Fortuner's global debut in Thailand and local market launch.

The outgoing Fortuner is currently selling from RM171,500.00 to RM 195,600.
