Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan, told the daily that an ambulance was immediately dispatched to check on the victim’s condition.
Unfortunately, the 76-year-old Indian man was declared to have passed away at the scene and the body was sent to Kajang Hospital Forensic Unit for further investigations.
PDRM has classified the case as sudden death and investigations are still underway.
JPJ also released a statement regarding the incident. The department stated that the victim was allowed to skip lines according to the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) for senior citizens and led into the sitting area.
His temperature check was normal and he produced the required vaccination certificate. When the department staff realise that the victim was unconscious, they immediately called MERS 999 emergency unit for help.
