Following the flash floods that have affected multiple states in Malaysia, the government has announced a special RM 100 million aid to help repair homes and infrastructure that were damaged.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the government is aware of the extend of damage caused by the ongoing floods. The government estimated nearly 21,000 victims were evacuated to relief centres throughout the country.

The relief aid will see the government contribute RM 1,000 for each household. In addition to that, the Bantuan Wang Ihsan payments, that was previously increased to RM 1,000 per household in September, will be expedited to help those affected by the disaster.

Ismail Sabri also said that a RM 50 million disbursement to the National Disaster Relief Trust Fund (KWABBN) will be handed out to ensure continuity of aid to households affected by the floods.
Other than that, the PM has also ordered the finance ministry to ensure banking institutions were ready to offer payment assistance programmes for borrowers affected by the flood.

Aside from financial aid, the government has announced a special public holiday for all civil servants affected by the floods. They also encouraged companies to give victims paid leave to allow them extra time to deal with the aftermath of the disaster.
The government will also ensure that relief centres have adequate equipment and basic necessities such as toilets, face masks, and food. Meanwhile, at least one doctor and one nurse will be stationed at each of these centres to take care of the flood victims.
