Road bully waving handcuffs in viral video confirmed to be a police officer

On Monday we reported a case involving a Proton Persona who not only brake checked another car for not letting him pass but also brandished a pair of handcuffs out the window. Now it has been confirmed that the driver of the Persona is indeed a police officer.

The incident happened along the Jalan Tun Razak highway on Saturday (12-February-2022) at around 1 pm.

The Persona was seen trying to cut into the lane without signalling and then proceeding to drive ahead while waving his handcuffs out the window.

According to a report by the news portal Majoriti, the victim, a bank manager, made a police report about 24 hours after the incident as he or she was afraid of the consequences of reporting the driver who brandished his handcuffs out the window as he was passing the victim’s car.

The police report that Majoriti had seen also revealed that the driver of the silver Persona was indeed a police officer of Lance Corporal rank from the Wangsa Maju Police Station.

IPD Wangsa Maju Integrity and Standards Compliance Division has launched an internal investigation, also known as Police Enquiry Paper (KEP), against the 42-year-old Lance Corporal.
