Chery is not done yet with its QQ series as they welcome a brand-new member known as the Chery QQ Wujie Pro. While the other QQ series are aimed at women, the Wujie Pro is clearly aimed at the sportier and manlier crowd.

Priced from CNY 79,900 (~RM 52,400) onwards, the Wujie Pro comes with four variants to choose from and two ranges.

The base Wujie Pro has at least a 301 km range while power output is rated at 75 PS and 150 Nm. The front electric motor draws power from a 55-kW battery while the top speed is rated at 120 km/h.

Level up to the two higher-spec Wujie Pro and you will get a larger 70 kW battery. The higher-spec Wujie Pro has a distance range of 408 km with power output rated at 95 PS and 120 Nm.

Measuring 3,402 x 1,680 x 1,550 mm in length, width, and height with a wheelbase of 2,160 mm, the QQ Wujie Pro looks closer to a Chery EQ (known as the Little Ant in China) than the standard boxy QQ.

The theme of the QQ Wujie Pro’s design is lightning futurism, the little electric vehicle (EV) features stylish headlamps named, roughly translated, the Thunder Tomahawk design.

To further emphasise the futuristic look, Chery’s designers added a mesh design to give the EV a frameless grille pattern.

For a tiny EV, Chery sure did add some extra-large wheels. The Wujie Pro rides on 16-inch wheels designed to look like a windmill. The larger wheels add to the sporty look that Chery is going for.

Another futuristic design feature that Chery has added is the hidden door handles. The hidden door handles allowed designers to emphasise the Z design for the Wujie Pro’s side profile.

At the rear, the theme continues with the similarly themed taillamps. To make the car look sportier, the bumper comes with indents that mimic a rear diffuser.

In a sea of female-centric small EVs, the Chery QQ Wujie Pro definitely stands out with its sporty looks and aggressive thunderbolt themed design. For now, Chery still does not have any plans to export the QQ series cars overseas.

We wonder if the Indonesia-bound Chery EQ will also get a sporty Wujie Pro version that will appeal to men rather than women.
