CARSOME Service Center brings transparency and quality to keeping your ride running

CARSOME sold over 150,000 pre-owned cars last year and all those cars will require maintenance, seeing that the majority of their factory warranties would have lapsed. Acknowledging a need for trustworthy mechanics and car maintenance, CARSOME aims to deliver the very same transparency and trust as its buying procedures to servicing your car with the newly-launched CARSOME Service Center.

It has commenced operations at two strategic locations in Petaling Jaya and Ampang. Car owners can easily book appointments for an inspection through the online form here. 

CARSOME shared its data that indicated 80 percent of CARSOME cars go past the factory warranty period, pushing owners to have their cars serviced at conventional workshops over the pricier authorised centres.

If you’re thinking, “I didn’t purchase my car from CARSOME though, can I still send my car there?”

The CARSOME Service Center welcomes one and all. It cater for all cars, even those not purchased from CARSOME.

Present to officiate the launch at the Petaling Jaya branch was Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Chang Lih Kang. Alongside him was Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya Lee Chean Chung, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation’s (MDEC) senior vice president Gopi Ganesalingam and CARSOME’s co-founder Eric Cheng.

“The CARSOME Service Center offers a full breadth of trusted after sales services for convenient worry-free car maintenance. We’re committed to alleviating the uncertainties car owners have to navigate in order to secure a reliable, affordable and trusted car maintenance service provider. We do this by providing a transparent digital booking platform backed by CARSOME standards and experts as a one-stop shop solution for car owners,” said Eric.

“We’re grateful for the support of our government stakeholders, including the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), which has been a long-time supporter of CARSOME via MAVCAP as well as MDEC which has helped us to introduce this service innovation to the Malaysian market through the Malaysian Digital Acceleration Grant. We hope to expand to the rest of our footprint in stages,” added Eric.

If you’re unsure regarding the exact nature of servicing your car requires, there’s a free 20-point inspection that will see the mechanics give the car a comprehensive check to help identify areas that need immediate attention or replacement.

The 20-point inspection covers everything under the hood; including electrical components, the undercarriage for leaks, wheels & tyres, brakes, and the interior. Once the inspection is completed, customers will be informed of the work required together with the cost estimate upfront before any work is carried out.

The service centres only carry quality spare parts, lubricants and fluids that’ll be fitted by certified mechanics for your peace of mind.

For periodic maintenance, there are 3 packages to suit the various recommended service intervals for cars.

The base Essential package starts at RM 98 and as the name suggests, covers the essentials with an oil change. It’s recommended for every 5,000 km or 10,000 km and covers the following:

• Engine oil replacement
• Oil filter replacement
• Oil drain plug washer replacement
• Windshield washer replacement

Positioned above the Essential package are the Standard and Comprehensive packages. These cover the air filter, brake fluid, transmission fluid and coolant replacement.

Although packages are recommended based on the mileage interval of the car, customers can also opt for individual repair jobs.

The CARSOME Service Center even accepts walk-ins although to save time, it’s best to make an appointment to be on the safe side. Operation hours are Monday - Saturday from 8.30 am - 5.30 pm and they’re closed on Sundays as well as public holidays.
