The all-new 2022 Subaru WRX has been spotted in Malaysia at Port Klang. The model will arrive here in fully-imported (CBU Japan) form like the upcoming 2022 Subaru BRZ and Subaru Outback.

During the launch of the Subaru XV facelift, TC Subaru confirmed that the all-new 2022 Subaru WRX will be launched in Malaysia, with the 2022 Subaru BRZ, Subaru Outback, and Subaru WRX Wagon joining the line-up as well. The Subaru WRX Wagon is known as the second-generation Subaru Levorg in Japan.

The 2022 Subaru WRX gets a turbocharged 2.4-litre flat-four FA24F engine with 275 PS/350 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system, while transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The former is unlikely to be available Malaysia.

It’s built on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) like the Subaru XV and Subaru Forester, benefitting from a 28 percent increase in torsional rigidity.

There’s no word on prices in Malaysia so we’ll have to wait until more is revealed. For reference, the previous-generation Subaru WRX went for RM 214k.
