Tesla is gearing up for its official introduction in Malaysia on 20-July 2023, as announced by a teaser on social media. This positions Malaysia as the third market in Southeast Asia, following Singapore and Thailand, to offer the poster child of EVs.

No details on the upcoming models were shared but we can rule out the Model S and Model X as both were discontinued for right-hand drive markets.

For reference, Thailand sells the Model 3 and Model Y, with prices for the Model 3 starting from:

• THB 1,759,000 (around RM 220k) for the base trim
• THB 1,999,000 (around 251k) for the Long Range
• THB 2,309,000 (around RM 290k) for the Performance

Meanwhile, prices for the Model Y in Thailand start from:

• THB 1,959,000 (around RM 245k) for the base trim
• THB 2,259,000 (around RM 283k) for the Long Range
