Another week, another LRT suffers from ‘technical issues’ along the Kelana Jaya (KJ) Line during peak hour on 21-September-2022. This comes just weeks after another LRT broke down near the University Station.
According to a Free Malaysia Today (FMT) report, the latest train issue occurred at the Ampang Park Station.

The issue was believed to have started at 5.50 pm as social media users started taking to various platforms to complain about trains stopping for long periods at each station. RapidKL only released a confirmation that the KJ Line was indeed suffering from technical issues at 5.56 pm.
Fortunately, the issue was quickly rectified as RapidKL took to its official platforms to announce that normal service will resume at 6.16 pm.

Despite the quick fix, commuters, of course, did not take the news well. This is the second time in September that the KJ Line’s services were disrupted during peak hours.
The technical issues are just one of the many problems that KJ Line LRT users had to endure. Just last week, commuters took to Twitter to complain about the long queues starting from the train station entrance.

This is on top of the many out-of-service doors on the trains that left commuters scrambling to get to the next available door. That's not to mention the constantly broken escalators at train stations.
While the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has purchased a new set of trains that will ply along the KJ Line, these new trains won’t be going into service until July 2023. So, commuters are encouraged to be patient for the time being.
