2018 Haval H2

Reasons why I bought this car

Bought this car as the primary car for me and wife, mainly for travelling around the peninsular. Also as a replacement of an older car.

Car Selection Process

I had a budget of: RM 100k

Models that I’ve considered included : Honda city, Mazda 2

Me and wife were hunting high and low for the best car below RM 100k. We had a few options but those cars were either too compact or impractical (eg an hybrid sedan has to have a battery in place of a spare tyre). Haval H2 was a pleasent surprise. It was a decent sized SUV with myriad specs and safety feautures. Furthermore, it was a rare car on the road. The fuel consumption is at 8.5l/100km

User experience

• I have already done 74,356km
• The car has a smooth and comfirtable ride due to the 18 inches rim. Even at high speed, there is no vibration in the cabin. The gadgets are located in the right places. I enjoy driving around my neighbourhood with the open sunroof. There the turbo lag that effects the acceleration from stanstill.
• But a switch to manual transmission solves it. There are also driving modes of Standard, Economic and Snow (for wet roads) to choose from. A great for a great price. Ps. To be honest, the warranty service is not acceptable. But so far I have not experienced any technical issues to activate the warranty, other than the blurred wording of the welcome light of the side mirrors.

Pros of my car:

• Comfortable ride
• Value for money
• Spacious
• Large tyre and rim
• Rare in malaysian roads

Cons of my car:

• Turbo lag at acceleration at standtill (can be solved by switching to manual)
• Wiper noise when switched to auto
• Warranty waiting time
