![Sime Darby's Mecomb appointed distributor of Wallbox EV charging products 01]()
Wallbox, a NYSE-listed provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management solutions, has entered a distribution partnership with Sime Darby’s subsidiary Mecomb Malaysia.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mecomb Malaysia will distribute a range of Wallbox products and be one of the preferred AC charging solutions for its sister company Sime Darby Motors, the automotive arm of Sime Darby, in Malaysia.
In Malaysia, Sime Darby Motors represents BMW, MINI, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Volvo and Hyundai.

Sime Darby’s press release was lacking in details (no photos provided either) and the company did not mention what products will be offered for Malaysia. Presumably it will be limited only to regular AC charging.
In the US, Wallbox also offers bi-directional charging solutions (the vehicle serves as a backup power source for the home, in the event of a blackout), but will only work on vehicles that support V2H / V2X and of course, a compatible smart home setup.
