Watch: Seconds before 10-car pile-up in Vietnam

We’ve read and seen the aftermath of 10-car pile-ups but it is not often that we get to watch the pile-up happen. This incident happened on Vietnam’s National Route 1A, the highway that connects the country from north to south much like our North-South Expressway, was caught on the dashcam of one lucky escapee.

In the 59-second dashcam footage, a heavy tanker started barrelling into traffic due to unknown reasons. Unfortunately, the roads were very crowded at the time of the incident, hence causing the multiple car pile-up.

According to the automotive website Autopro, the pile-up involved at least 10 cars and 1 fatality. Meanwhile, 5 others were rushed to the hospital for severe injuries.

The incident is believed to have happened on 2-July-2021 at around 3.30 pm. Local authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident at the time of writing.
