@pebenito IMO you are babying it too much. Put one on each side of the engine subframe, leave the jack in place and be done with it.
@AngryExile On my Mk2 I would undo the subframe, suspension and engine mounts and just jack up the car body whenever little Miss 8v had a tummy ache. I miss that car.

OK, I forgot to unbolt the engine from the subframe and jack it up to access the bottom bolt for the A/C compressor.
Imagine being me and ordering a complete clutch kit for your car because you “heard a noise” and then you take the engine and transmission out of your car just to learn a piece of subframe just got bent upwards when lifting the car on a jack and the clutch is absolutely fINE 🙃
