Porsche just posted its sales figures for the first half of 2023 (H1 2023) with 167,354 vehicles sold, a 15% increase compared to the same period in 2022 (145,860). Even though the Stuttgart company is known as a sports car manufacturer, more than half of those units sold in the first six months of the year are sport utility vehicles.
The most popular Porsche sold is the Porsche Macan which saw 47,755 units (+26%) delivered to customers around the world while its second most popular is the Porsche Cayenne with 46,884 units (+12%) sold.

The Porsche 911 which turns 60 in 2023 saw 26,124 units (+21%) delivered in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, 17,991 (-5%) units of the Porsche Taycan EV were sold though Porsche stated that shortfalls in the availability of parts are hampering its production more than other models.

Elsewhere, Porsche sold 17,565 units (+13%) of the Panamera and a combined 11,035 units (+13%) of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman.
It’s good news overall for Porsche as the carmaker posted gains in every sales region in the first half of 2023. The German performance car experts saw double-digit growth in Europe, Germany, North America, as well as overseas and emerging markets.
Porsche also saw sales growth in China despite the challenging environment. The Middle Kingdom is Porsche’s largest market overall and saw 43,832 units sold in H1 2023, an 8% growth compared to the same period in 2022 (40,681 units).
