Following a preview earlier this year and the subsequent Registration of Interest (ROI) - we've now come full circle with the official introduction of the complete Audi e-Tron range for Malaysia.

Having garnered โ€˜triple digitโ€™ bookings in the months since ROIs were opened, the complete e-tron range introduced by official distributor PHS Automotive Malaysia consists four models and a total seven variants:

  • Q8 e-Tron advanced 50 quattro: RM 397,790
  • Q8 e-Tron S Line 55 quattro: RM 488,790
  • Q8 Sportback e-Tron advanced 50 quattro: RM 403,790
  • Q8 Sportback e-Tron S Line 55 quattro: RM 498,790
  • e-tron GT quattro: RM 600,790
  • e-tron GT quattro with Dynamic Package: RM 679,790
  • RS e-tron GT: RM 808,790

All listed prices are OTR, sans insurance, inclusive of the extended Audi Assurance Package (AAP).

Audi Q8 e-tron

The electric-only e-tron range starts with the Q8 e-tron advanced 50, which outputs 340 PS and 664 Nm from two electric motors (AWD) that are juiced up by an 89 kWh (usable, 95 kWh nominal) battery. Electric driving range is claimed at 410 km.

The Q8 e-tron S line 55 offers more power, at 408 PS and 664 Nm and is juiced by a larger usable 106 kWh (gross 114 kWh battery). Claimed electric range is 481 km. 

Elsewhere, the S Line pacakge adds a dose of aggression, courtesy of sharper bumper garnishes, larger 12-inch wheels, and sporty trim highlights on the inside. 

Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron

The Q8 Sportback e-tron advanced 50 gets the same drive unit, though features are bumped up with Matrix LED headlamps, sports adaptive suspension, and sports seats, along with black styling package.

Moving up to the Q8 e-tron S line 55 variant, it gets a larger 106 kWh battery with more powerful motors that outputs 408 PS and 664 Nm. Range is up to 481 km.

AC charging for the e-tron 50 variant is up to 11 kW, while the e-tron 55 variant get the upgraded 22 kW charging capability. DC fast charging for the Q8 e-tron 50 is up to 150 kW and 170 kW for the Q8 e-tron 55.

Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT

The Porsche Taycan's twin the e-tron GT is powered by two PSM motors (permanently excited synchronous motors), one on each axle delivering 476 PS and 530 Nm.

In the RS e-tron variant, the wick is turned up to 598 PS and a whopping 830 Nm of torque. In both cases, the e-tron GT models feature a 2-speed transmission on the rear axle.

In both cases an overboost function is available, which bumps power to 530 PS and 640 Nm in the e-tron GT and 646 PS (torque unchanged) in the RS e-tron GT. The boost function lasts for 2.5 seconds.

Put the hammer down and the RS e-tron GT will complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.3 seconds, and keep accelerating to a top speed of 250 km/h.

Powering both the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT is an 84 kWh (93 kWh gross) lithium-ion battery located between the front and rear axles. With the battery fully charged the e-tron GT models have a claimed driving range of up to 501 km.

Both cars can achieve a peak charging rate of up to 270 kW at a sufficiently powerful DC terminal. The e-tron GT is capable of 11 kW AC charging; and up to 22 kW in the e-tron GT Dynamic Package and RS e-tron GT.

Additionally, just like Porsche Taycan, the Audi e-tron GT also supports 400V / 800V dual-charging capability.

All Audi e-tron models are offered with standard 2 years unlimited mileage warranty and 8 years / 160k km battery warranty, with the option of extending to the Audi Assurance Package (AAP) which offers an 3 additional years of warranty and 3 years free maintenance at 15,000km service intervals.

Also included in the seeling price of Audi e-tron models is a complimentary e-tron Compact Charger and RM1,000 JomCharge Credits.

The Compact charger is able to plug into standard household power socket with an output of 1.8kW to 2.3 kW, or via a three-phase power supply with an output of 11 kW. Charging can be set to 100 or 50 percent.

Upcoming Audi Q6 e-tron slated to debut later this year 

Moving forward, PHSAM is planning yet more e-tron model launches. Speaking at the launch, CEO Erik Winter said the company is already working to bring in the flagship SQ8, and the Q6 e-tron in due course.
