Yesterday, Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia hosted the groundbreaking ceremony of EPMB's CKD production plant in Pegoh, Melaka.

The RM 100 million plant, located in the same Pegoh Industrial Park as Honda Malaysia’s plant, will produce future GWM models including SUVs, pickups, and electric vehicles.

By 2028, the plant will operate with a 20,000 units annual capacity, with the potential to hit 30,000 units.

Earlier on 18th October, GWM and EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Car Assembly and Parts Production.

The signing ceremony took place at EPMB headquarters in Selangor between Mike Cui, Managing Director of Great Wall Motor Malaysia, and Ahmad Razlan Mohamed, Group Chief Executive Officer of EPMB, who was present during the signing ceremony.

This will be GWM’s second plant in Southeast Asia, after its Thailand plant in Rayong.

Mike Cui, Managing Director of Great Wall Motor Malaysia said, “I am thankful to EPMB for this partnership as it is a huge stepping stone for GWM and our vision of becoming the leading automotive brand in the ASEAN region”.
