Elderly driver fined for driving in motorcycle lane

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has confirmed they have issued a fine to the driver of a Mercedes-Benz caught on video driving on the motorcycle lane. The incident first came to PDRM’s attention when the video of the car on the motorcycle lane went viral.
Kajang district police chief, Asst Comm Mohd. Zaid Hassan told Kosmo the incident happened at 10.55 am involved a 78-year-old senior citizen. The driver was on his way to Kuala Lumpur from Balakong when he caught on camera cruising in the motorcycle lane.
According to Mohd. Zaid, PDRM was able to track down the Mercedes-Benz to the owner’s house. A brief investigation revealed that the senior citizen was not in his best condition.
The driver admitted to his faults and further explained after he reached Batu 11 plaza toll, he had mistakenly entered the motorcycle lane on the Grand Saga Highway.
