70mai has once again proven itself to be at the forefront of Digital Video Recorders (DVR) with the launch of its newest flagship 4K model, the A810. Boasting an array of groundbreaking features, this DVR is set to revolutionize the way we capture road incidents.
We’ve been using the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 for a bit and we can confidently say that this is the most impressive dash cam we’ve tried yet. Let us walk you through its features and give you our first impressions of it.
The A810 is 70mai's first dash cam to support real 4K HDR front + HDR rear recording. Powered by the Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 sensor and HDR algorithm, the A810 enhances day and night vision to deliver superior clarity, accurate colours, and perfectly balanced exposure.
The internal chip size has been increased by 68 percent, resulting in a 90 percent increase in the single-pixel photosensitive area. This enhancement becomes particularly evident in low-light conditions, where it excels at capturing clear details in dark areas while keeping noise levels remarkably low.
The F1.8 large aperture captures more light, resulting in well-illuminated recordings in the dark. The exclusive 70mai Night Owl Vision takes night footage to new heights by improving clarity, exposure balance, colour saturation, and light glare control.
The 60 FPS framerate option ensures smooth and adaptive recording, especially during fast-motion events, identifying human faces and license plates with ease.
Even when zoomed in, image quality remains crisp.
The A810's extra-wide 150-degree field of view ensures that it captures actions on both sides of your car, providing a comprehensive view of potential motorbike scrapes, car robberies, window smashing vandalism, and suspicious human behaviour or collisions.
The exclusive MaiColor Vivid+ Solution (MVS) further enhances footage quality by improving exposure balance and colour accuracy in challenging lighting conditions. The dash cam uses a self-developed IQ tuning strategy to enhance license plate clarity while minimizing distractions from irrelevant areas.
24H Parking Surveillance (Hardwire kit required)

With the A810's 24H parking surveillance and time-lapse recording, you can rest assured that your vehicle is protected even when you're away. It captures a still picture every second during parking mode and compresses every 15 minutes into 1 minute, saving memory space and lowering battery usage while allowing for faster playback.
AI Motion Detection for Enhanced Security (Hardwire kit required)
The Smart Parking Guardian Mode, enabled by the AI motion detection algorithm, accurately identifies suspicious behaviours during parking, triggering emergency recording when needed. The built-in G-sensor further enhances security by detecting unusual forces during parking and activating recording in the event of shakes or collisions.
Super-Sensing ADAS for Safer Driving

The A810 comes equipped with a super-sensing ADAS that detects your surroundings and provides real-time voice alerts for potential safety problems, always ensuring safe driving. The expanded safety alerts include Pedestrian/Bikers Alert, Lane Departure Alert, Front Collision Alert, and Moving Traffic Alert.
Remote Vehicle Monitoring (to support OTA with 4G capability in future)
The 70mai A810 will be offered with 4G functions for Over-The-Air (OTA) support, with features such as:
Instant Alert - Experience real-time notifications on your phone whenever your parked car encounters a collision or suspicious incident, providing continuous monitoring and peace of mind.
App Live Streaming - Gain the ability to remotely view and capture photos and videos through the app, with the option to upload them to the cloud for easy access and storage.
Find My Car - Utilize GPS technology to pinpoint your vehicle's exact location at any time and from anywhere, simplifying the process of locating and recovering your car.
The upcoming OTA support with 4G functions is scheduled for release in October. 70mai offers a comprehensive 3-year warranty, which includes 1 year of replacement service and 2 years of repair service.
First impressions of the 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810
It's common for dash cams to over expose when going through an underpass, but not the A810, everything remains perfectly exposed.
In practice, the unmatched clarity is evident, even in challenging lighting conditions. We were impressed by the A810’s ability to expose darker areas without overblowing the highlights, courtesy of the HDR processing. During the night, its ability to minimise glare from light sources was second to none.
We were also blown away by the quality of the HDR rear recording. Rear cameras typically have a noticeable drop in picture quality, but the footages we’ve recorded have shown otherwise.
One of our favourite features is the RS Effect, which adds visually appealing effects during playback. It displays information like vehicle speed, driving direction, and distance to the preceding vehicle, adding context to our recordings.
The built-in GPS has proven to be valuable, providing real-time vehicle location display and precise route tracking. It serves as solid evidence for insurance claims and driver behavior analysis. The 70mai App is intuitive and allows us to access real-time footage, download photos/videos, and manage settings effortlessly.
Conclusion
With its real 4K HDR front + HDR rear recording, superior video quality powered by the Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 sensor, and advanced safety features like AI motion detection and super-sensing ADAS, the A810 is a must-have for every car owner.
