Kedah Menteri Besar, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, contributes to the #Aid4Palestine fund by auctioning off his 2010 Volvo XC60 3.0. The SUV was placed on bidding with more than 20 bidders showing interest. The car was ultimately sold for RM 150,000.
According to Sinar Harian, bidding for the car started on Saturday at RM 55,000. Sanusi told the Malay daily the 20 bidders included individuals from outside the state.
Sanusi first bought the XC60 back in 2018 for RM 60,000.
The new owner Mohammad Yaakob Yusra Mohd Yusof said that he was happy to part with the huge sum to help the Palestinians following the recent flare-up in the Gaza strip.
He added that the vehicle will be donated to Murtadha Dakwah Centre, a religious institution in Sungai Petani, to be put to good use.
