GWM Malaysia recently announced, in a social media post celebrating the achievement of producing the 300,000th unit, that the Tank 300 is set to make its debut in Malaysia soon.
Tank is among the 5 sub-brands within the GWM umbrella alongside Ora and Haval. There are currently three models in the Tank lineup β Tank 300, 400, and 500.
Originally introduced in China in 2020, the GWM Tank 300 is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending 227 PS and 387 Nm to all four wheels via an electronic part-time 4-wheel drive (4WD) system.
In Thailand, the GWM Tank 300 offers a hybrid powertrain option, featuring a petrol-electric HEV system that results in a combined system output of 245 PS and 380 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission as the sole option.
The Tank 300 sits on a ladder frame, with a double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. 17-inch wheels and ventilated disc brakes on all four corners come as standard.
Depending on variant, the Tank 300 is equipped with a central electronic differential lock, front electronic differential lock, and rear electronic differential lock. Thereβs also a low-speed transfer case designed to handle challenging off-road terrains.
Inside the Tank 300, thereβs a dual-widescreen setup with 12.3-inch displays, with one serving infotainment duties and the other as the digital instrument cluster. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, sunroof, and ambient lighting.
As the Malaysian specifications for the Tank 300 are yet to be revealed, it remains uncertain if these features will be included. Stay tuned to WapCar.my for the latest updates on the Tank 300 as more information unfolds.
