As Thailand has launched the BYD Seal, one question on our minds is, "How much will the BYD Seal be priced in Malaysia?"

To predict the price of the upcoming BYD Seal in Malaysia, we will calculate the percentage difference in prices between the BYD Seal and Atto 3 in Thailand. Then, we'll apply this percentage difference to the prices of the corresponding models in Malaysia to estimate the potential price range for the BYD Seal.

Looking at the two BYD models in Thailand, the prices are as follows:

• BYD Atto 3: THB 1,099,900 - THB 1,199,900
• BYD Seal: THB 1,325,000 - THB 1,599,000

Taking the base price of the BYD Atto 3 as the reference point, we find that the percentage increase for the BYD Seal in Thailand ranges from approximately 20.4% to 33.3%.

Now, let's apply these percentage differences to the price of BYD Atto 3 in Malaysia:

• Standard Range: RM 150,430 + 20.4% = RM 181,118
• Extended Range: RM 168,430 + 33.3% = RM 224,517

Hence, our estimated prices for the BYD Seal start from RM 181k for the base variant to RM 224k for the range-topping variant.

Note that these figures are speculative and subject to change. Official pricing announcements from BYD SD Motor will provide accurate information regarding the BYD Seal's pricing and available variant(s).

Just a refresher on the BYD Seal, there are three variants offered in Thailand with power outputs that range from 204 PS to 530 PS. Below is a quick glance:

• Dynamic RWD – 510 km range, 204 PS motor
• Premium RWD – 650 km range, 313 PS motor
• AWD Performance – 580 km range, 530 PS motor

Battery capacity is 61.4 kWh in the Dynamic RWD variant while the upper rung variants get an 82.5 kWh battery.

Charging capabilities are 7 kW AC across all variants, while DC charging is rated at 110 kW for the Dynamic RWD variant and 150 kW for the Premium RWD and AWD Performance variants. Vehicle to Load (V2L) function is supported with up to 2.2 kW.
