Here’s your first glimpse of what the trains that will be used on the upcoming LRT 3 route will look like! The first set of 3-coach trains that will operate from Johan Setia, Klang, to Bandar Utama has arrived in Malaysia.
The train has now been sent to the CRRC Rolling Stock Centre (Malaysia) facility in Perak to have its interior fitted out.
Interestingly, the new train is a far step away from the usual Rapid KL trains that we’re more used to. The train is finished in silver with only one blue line running throughout the body with no trace of red or white.
Does this mean Rapid KL is dropping the usual red and white colour scheme soon?
Scheduled to start operations in February 2024, the LRT 3 route spans 37.6 km long with a total of 25 stations. 22 units of 3-coach trains will be used on the route.
