The first round of repair and clean up works on the Kelana Jaya Line were completed yesterday night (27 May), but unfortunately further testing has shown that more repair work is required.
According to a Facebook post by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, the Physical Inspection Team, made up of 10 officers from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), carried out a test during the night and discovered that the repaired railway failed several safety guidelines.

Out of the officers involved 8 were observing on-site while 2 officers were stationed at the RRSB Control Centre.

Upon testing, officers concluded that the Emergency Walkway on the right of the Rail 1447 is still not stable after it broke during the head-on collision between the 2 trains.
This needs to be addressed immediately hence the continuous closure of one track between the KLCC Station and Kampung Baru Station.

Other than that, 3 rail clips were discovered lose during the test. Rapid Rail officers have already addressed the issue.
APAD has also ordered Rapid Rail to replace the linear heat detector sector cable as well. At least 28.5 m of the cable along tunnels 126 to 96 were discovered damaged from the collision.
The cable is used to make sure the fire detection system is functioning in the tunnels.
It’s not all bad news though, the rollover simulation tests were conducted successfully at 3 am. Wee noted that the trains were able to smoothly operate on the tracks.
In conclusion, the track will remain closed for the time being as repair works continue until further notice. Once the second round of repairs is completed, APAD will once again carry out another test to ensure the smooth running of all systems.
