Just before the BYD Seal is launched in Malaysia later this week, Indonesia has announced pricing for the model: starting from IDR 629 million (~RM 192k) for the Premium variant, and IDR 719 million (~RM 220k) for the top-spec Performance variant.

The battery-electric sedan is the priciest BYD model on sale there, 18% pricier than the Atto 3 (~RM 158k), and 32% higher than the Dolphin that's priced from IDR 425 million (~RM 130k).

In the archipelago, the BYD Seal comes in 3 flavours: the range starts off with the 215 PS / 310 Nm Dynamic (460 km range, WLTP), the 313 PS / 360 Nm Premium that offers 570 km range per the WLTP cycle, or the 530 PS / 670 Nm Performance that also has a 570 km WLTP-rated range.

As far as features are concerned it comes with the full suite of BYD's advanced driver aids (ADAS), the 15.6-inch rotating screen, Dynaudio infotainment, and all-wheel drive (AWD) for the highest variant.

Meanwhile, BYD Malaysia is set to launch the Seal later this week. Full specifications, other than powertrain details as below, haven't been divulged (though it probably won't be too different from what's in Indonesia), so there's a bit of waiting to do before that and questions on pricing are answered.

• Dynamic – Rear-wheel drive, 61.4 kWh, 204 PS/310 Nm, 510 km (NEDC)
• Premium – Rear-wheel drive, 82.5 kWh, 313 PS/360 Nm, 650 km (NEDC)
• Performance – All-wheel drive, 82.5 kWh, 530 PS/670 Nm, 580 km (NEDC)
