Sime Darby Motors makes it flexible for employees to change cars every other year

Sime Darby Motors (SDM) today announced the launch of its Employee Mobility at Ease Programme (EMAEP), an innovative mobility solution open to all employees of Sime Darby Berhad and its subsidiaries in Peninsular Malaysia, for greater accessibility and flexibility to owning selected SDM franchise cars and used cars, with minimal or no down payment.
This initiative is in line with SDM’s continuous efforts to futureproof its business by pushing for innovative mobility solutions that place customer needs at the forefront.
Under this programme, Sime Darby employees can enjoy the convenience of owning a car without the usual hassle of traditional car ownership by paying a fixed monthly fee for a short lock-in period of only one year. The monthly fee will not only cover the car, but also insurance, road tax, maintenance and wear and tear. Most importantly, the programme shields its user from unpredictable depreciation cost derived from various factors out of the user’s control.
Unlike most car owners in Malaysia who are limited to a particular car for a five to nine-year period depending on the loan tenure, Sime Darby employees have the flexibility to upgrade or switch to different models based on their needs after they return the car to SDM’s used car arm, Sime Darby Auto Selection (SDAS) upon completing the 1-year term.

Commenting on the launch of EMAEP, Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of SDM Malaysia’s Retail and Distribution said, “The modern marketplace is asking for mobility solutions, not just transportation and EMAEP is the logical response to society’s changing mobility needs. EMAEP guarantees mobility and the joy of experiencing a new car every year, with peace of mind”.
“SDM is constantly looking at ways in which we can leverage on our expertise and customer know-how to elevate our value proposition. This programme addresses customer’s wants for convenience and choice but also complements our existing initiatives by SDAS to provide consistent and quality used car supply”, he added.
SDAS’ online used car store (simedarbyautoselection.com.my) allows customers to search from a wide range of up to 300 high quality used cars – from used to nearly new vehicles which are not limited to SDM’s stable of franchise brands.
The website comes with user-friendly features that enable scheduling of car inspections and appraisal appointments, service appointments and test drive bookings, as well as the latest promotions and events. SDAS’ first ever service centre for multi-brand vehicles in Glenmarie, Selangor also provides a new after sales alternative for post warranty vehicles complementing existing after-sales service of all car brands.
