Suzuki Motor Thailand has just launched the updated 2021 Suzuki Ciaz in the Kingdom. The new eco car from Suzuki receives some small improvements for its 2021 model year.
New to the 2021 Suzuki Ciaz range is an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It replaces the outgoing model’s smaller seven-inch unit.
This update also introduces a reverse camera. Both the eight-inch infotainment system and reverse camera are now standard across the board.
Despite these new additions, prices of the 2021 Suzuki Ciaz remain unchanged. It is priced between THB 523,000 to THB 675,000.

Elsewhere, the 2021 Suzuki Ciaz is unchanged from before. Four variants are offered in Thailand, all powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that does 91 PS at 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm at 4,800 rpm. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual and a CVT-type automatic.
Visually, the 2021 Suzuki Ciaz is identical to the predecessor model. Upper variants of the Suzuki Ciaz get LED headlights, all-round bodykit, chrome exterior trim pieces, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic air-conditioning, rear air-cond vents, and leather upholstery.
As impressive as the Suzuki Ciaz may sound, its safety equipment is rather lacklustre – all variants get dual airbags, side impact beams, and ABS. The Ciaz does not offer side or curtain airbags, nor does it offer stability control.
Any chance for Malaysia?
Seeing that Naza Eastern Motors, the newly-appointed Suzuki distributor in Malaysia will be relying on an imported (CBU) line-up for the time being, could the Ciaz be offered in Malaysia?
We reckon that the Ciaz may not be a suitable fit for the Malaysian market, owing to its rather poor safety equipment list. The Ciaz’s rivals, including the Honda City, Toyota Vios, and Nissan Almera all offer a more comprehensive safety net than the Suzuki.
Even cars smaller than the Suzuki Ciaz, like the Perodua Bezza and Proton Saga, offer stability control on selected variants, it does effectively shut the door for the Ciaz to be sold here.
