Wee: Masks are still mandatory when using public transport

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has sent out a reminder to commuters that the use of face masks is still mandatory when using public transport.

On Wednesday (7-September-2022), the Health Ministry announced that wearing a mask is no longer mandatory indoors. However, Malaysians are still required to wear a face mask when travelling on public transport.

"It is still mandatory in buses, rails, taxis, including e-hailing services, aeroplanes, employee and school buses and vans throughout the country,” said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in a post on his official Facebook page.

"Any changes regarding the SOP for the use of face masks for public transport services, terminals and stations will be notified later, after taking into account the current evaluation of the Health Ministry,” he said.
