Earlier this week, social media were shocked after videos and photos of a lorry ploughing into a group of cars in Jalan Ipoh went viral. Now, another case has been reported in Sungai Buloh, seven cars were crushed during the incident.
The accident happened at a traffic light in Persiaran Bukit Rahman Putra 1 heading towards Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh at around 4.30 pm yesterday (9-September-2021).

From what we can see, a Honda Jazz, Perodua Aruz, Isuzu NRR35, Isuzu D-Max, Daihatsu Gran Max, Perodua Axia, and a Toyota Hiace were victims of the bowling tarmac-laden lorry.
According to the Sungai Buloh police chief, Supt Shafa’aton Abu Bakar, early investigations revealed that the brakes on the lorry had malfunctioned causing the driver to lose control.

Despite the damage on the cars, Shafa’aton confirmed that there were no injuries reported. The case is now investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
As we’ve mentioned, this is the second incident this week where a heavy vehicle ploughed into cars that were waiting at a traffic light. In the earlier case that happened on Monday, the driver tested positive for drugs and the police has suspended the driver’s licence.
