Adding to the royalty's diverse car collection, the Hongqi L5 is the current flagship vehicle of the brand, and continues the trend of being the country's official state vehicle โ€“ the first-generation model had President Xi Jinping among its notable owners. The example seen here is the second-generation model that was revealed late last year.

The retro-styled luxury limousine measures 5,980 mm long, 2,090 mm wide, and 1,710 mm tall - all sitting on a 3,730 mm wheelbase; roughly 400 mm longer than what the Mercedes-Benz S-Class offers.

Under the hood is a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine that makes 387 PS. The L5 also holds the title as being China's most expensive domestically-produced car, with prices starting from CNY 5 million (~RM 3.3 million).
