GWM Malaysia has unveiled its latest offering, the GWM Ora 07, alternatively referred to as the Lightning Cat or Grand Cat. Available in two variants, Long Range Ultra and Performance, the starting prices (MSRP, sans miscellaneous fees and insurance) are RM 169,800 and RM 189,800, respectively.

Built upon GWM's Lemon platform, the Ora 07’s mix of retro and Porsche gives it a slippery design with a drag coefficient of 0.22. The hidden door handles and active rear spoiler contribute to its aero efficiency.
The exterior design features oval-shaped LED lighting units both at the front and rear, accompanied by a choice of 18- or 19-inch wheels.

The front-mounted electric motor in the Long Range variant delivers 204 PS and 340 Nm, and goes up to a top speed of 170 km/h.
The Performance variant features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. This configuration produces 408 PS and 680 Nm, resulting in a higher top speed of 180 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.3 seconds.

Both versions are powered by an 83.5-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The Long Range variant offers an NEDC range of up to 640 km, while the Performance variant achieves 550 km (NEDC).
In terms of charging, both variants support AC charging at up to 11 kW, while DC fast charging peaks at 88 kW. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability is available, providing power to accessories at a rate of up to 3.3 kW.

Inside the cabin, there’s a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The centre console is said to be angled for accessibility and incorporates a hollowed-out section underneath, providing a cubby space and power outlets.
Other interior highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, powered tailgate, and front seats with a massage function. Audio is pipe through an 11-speaker Harman Infinity sound system.

On the safety front, the Ora 07 equipped with the full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including intelligent ACC with stop-and-go, GWM’s Wisdom Dodge System (WDS), and self-parking features, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, and traffic sign recognition.

Colour options for the exterior include Crystal Purple, Amethyst Gray, and Jade White, while interior choices comprise black or brown upholstery.

The Ora 07 is covered by a 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, whichever comes first. The high-voltage battery, electric motor, and electric motor unit get an 8-year/180,000 km warranty.
For the early birds, the first 500 Ora 07 customers will get a complimentary home wallbox charger and an extended warranty (to 8 years or 180,000 km).
