suzuki jimny jokes Q&A Review

Connor Sullivan praises some aspects of Japan but also says Japanese are too risk-averse and afraid to offend others; that existing relationships determine business decisions more than merit; and that this’ll harm Japan in the future. Do you agree?

A2A This is what you will see in a modern society that has reached its high level of prosperity. The young generation will pursue career and harmonious life. But he entrepreneurship drive is waning. Compare it with China where poverty is still haunting the society. There is no constraint other than communist and Sun Tzu teachings. There is nothing to loose although one could end up like Jack Ma. The older generation shows no intellectual left over but a fond of gambling. The young generation is naturally have a higher blood pressure of risk-taking adventuring dream. Nothing to stop you to steal intellectual properties. You can cheat as long as you know where to run away. It is a dynamic but sick society. I believe Japan’ s future is much better. You can grab any resources from all over the world, make your own product, and sell it at very low prices that kill tour competitors, and make money from the sheer sales volume. But unfortunately your liked smartphone uses top camera made in Sony. Your plants are using chemicals made by those Japan producers. So, you live in a risky world and has to fight your way. While the Japanese will only pursue their hobby of making fine camera, beautiful Origami and tasty healthy Sushi. Seriously, I am not joking. I once, when I was young, drove my father’s Suzuki Jimny. I liked it very much. Today I see it is produced again by Suzuki and it is a hot fried banana. No advertisement, no competition unlike that beautiful Tesla electric cars. It will take many months of waiting till we get that jeep delivered. There is no risk nor market research other than to understand what people like to have and enjoy. That leave me wondering where those young generation get the idea to drive old idea. Or Honda super cab. Or that WW II look of Royal Enfield motorbike.

What are you driving and what is your dream car?

Since I am only a college student and unemployed here in Philippines I drive my parents subcompact Honda City 2003 Manual Transmission. This is the car were I learned to drive. I know most of you are not familiar with this Honda because this not known worldwide. This is a economy car so it is built for point A to B, fuel efficiency, and practicality. It is a 17 year old family car and it has more than 100k in its odo so it already had a lot of repairs yet we maintained to its good condition. It already traveled more than 10 road trips since it was brand new. I am a car lover since I was a child when I started collecting hot wheels, matchbox, die cast. So here my dream cars or the cars I like to own someday. Most of my dream cars are classics and modern mixed in the Japanese, European, and American segment. I will not mention all. Porsche Carrera/911 - I am a fan of Porsche since I was a child. They are one of the legends in the sports car segment. What I like most is they maintained their design and purpose up to the current models. Whenever I see a Porsche in the street my head turns and always tell my parents I like to own someday. I had a lot of couple of die cast Porsche when I was a child. I know the price of a Porsche especially to third world countries is not a joke but is still my best favorite car and still hoping to own one. Mazda Mx5 NA and ND - For me, this is the most possible dream car I can acquire in a couple of years because of its price and one of the sports car that is affordable. Roadster is my most favorite type of car because I feel it's cool to own a two seater convertible car and I love driving in curvy roads. For me, the Mazda Mx5 NA and ND is the best roadster because of its affordability and it is well known to have the best handling in cornering. Also, all 4 generation released maintained the purpose of the Miata to be a fun affordable roadster. I fell in love with this because my grandfather used to own a NA and started knowing this car. Mini - Also one of my childhood favorite car. I fell in love with the car after watching Mr. Bean and Italian Job when I was a child. I find the design of a Mini cute and unique. What I mean is that the design of this car attracts a lot of audience whether you are a kid, teenager, adult, and senior. I remember I ate in a restaurant here in Manila, Philippines and there is a couples of Mini ranging from classics to the modern ones parked and they are a lot of people taking picture with the car from kids to adults. That just proves the appeal of the design of Mini is unique and attractive to a lot of audience. Another thing, they maintained their well known design and purpose of their brand. Also, they are one of the icon in the automotive industry and racing. You can use a Mini as a everyday car if you don't have a big family, track car, and show car whether it is a classic or modern Mini. I prefer the classics models when BMW is not owned by Mini. Volkswagen Classics (Beetle, Golf, Kombi) - I fell in love with the Volkwagen after watching Herbie and having a VW Beetle and Kombi die cast. I like the Beetle and Kombi mainly because of its timeless design. I fell in love with Golf MK1 after watching a show in Discovery Turbo that restoring a Gold MK1 and they transformed into a sports car and started searching the capabilities of a Golf in the internet. I find also find the design of a a Golf MK1 unique. BMW - One of my favourites since I was a child after I fell in love seeing a Z4. I am a fan of German cars but for me BMW is the best among its competitors because of its combination cool design, luxury, and fun to drive cars. All of their from their low end 1 series up to their high end cars the purpose of owning a BMW is there. Like what I said, the Z4 e85 is the reason why I love BMW and became more curious to this brand as I grew up. My favorite or dream BMW is the Z4 e85, M3 e30, 6 series e24, 2002. Suzuki Jimny I am also a fan of Defender, G Wagon, Land Cruiser, and Wrangler but my most favorite 4x4 car is the Jimny. The Jimny proves to be a easy and reliable to use off road vehicle. It is small but terrible. You can use it in the city, dessert, and forest. Datsun/Fairlady Z - My most favorite classic JDM. I fell in love this car after watching Wangan and playing Midnight Club in the arcade. The design its timeless and I am sure this classic can compete with the modern ones in its segment Toyota Celica A20 - I love this classic because of its timeless design and have a resemblance of a Mustang. Many car enthusiasts said that this Celica is the Japanese version of the Mustang.

What make and model SUVs have great mileage, or at least better than other SUVs?

suv and great mileage? this has to be a joke! the closest thing you will find to an SUV (having full 4wd/awd capability and off road ability, as opposed to ‘crossovers’ which look like an SUV but arent, like the Ford Kuga, Skoda Kasroq etc, for examples) with anything CLOSE to good mileage is the tiny little Suzuki Jimny

What does the Tesla truck mean for Ford or General Motors?

It is going to be really interesting to see the actual sales volumes after the novelty wears off. It will probably sell well for people wanting something different or who like the superior specs. There are other electric haters, like one of the other posts here that won’t be interested now. Once properly engineered BEV pick up trucks hit the road many of them will change their tune once they realise what they are missing. However many of those people will still have a problem with the radical look of the Tesla. How those feeling affect sales will be interesting. Outside the USA and sales may be more a problem for it the same way the Ford F150 doesn’t export quite as well. They are ok for around town and limited off road use such as builders or on the beach but for serious off road they will will not sell in countries like New Zealand unless the can make a skinny version. My Suzuki Jimny will eat the Tesla alive off road here because it looks like the Tesla is the same width as the F150 and they are a joke off road here. The problem is our forest tracks are make by Suzuki Jimnys, Toyota Hiluxes and Land Rovers etc which all have normal car width axles. The last off road run I went on where someone tried to bring a F150 it was driving everywhere with its wheels up a bank or being winched thru the tight stuff. It was rapidly relegated to the learner tracks because it was making everyone wait for it. I believed BEVs have the potential to make great off road vehicles but think the future is one motor per wheel, so I think the Tesla was short changed by one motor.
