lamborghini in kenya Q&A Review

What is the biggest culture shock you have ever faced?

People from “The Saudi Arabia” Besides training officers from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bhutan, Lesotho, Kenya, Nigeria etc. India has recently started training Saudi’s too. Long story short; His father owns a small garage but that houses a few Ferraris’ and Lamborghinis. I could see the signs of disbelief on the guys face when He got instead of Atlas vs Ferrari So the first week went in just teaching him how to ride a bicycle. Yes has never seen a thing like that. Amazing thing is that the guy didn’t know ABC of English. One day he was sitting beside me and asked pointing towards “paneer” what’s that( of course in a sign language). I tried explaining him that it’s paneer. It’s made from milk . But the gentleman didn’t know what’s milk. I pointed to the glass of milk and told him that this thing is made from that thing. But to no avail. Then an Afghan came to my rescue and explained him everything in Arabic maybe. Once I had to ask him his date of birth(for official purpose). That was really a check of my patience. I tried making a drawing showing a baby taking birth. He smiled. I tried showing him that day’s date and asked him when did he appear in this world. Thankfully he understood after half an hour. Most amazing was Holi. The guy was too happy to celebrate with us. Now he has learned most of the things but back then he was just new to everything. The guy just loves INDIA

How far can $1,000,000 go in your country?

Whoa $1,000,000 is a stretch. First, forget the Lamborghini Aventador, the Bugatti or making a pre-order on the 2020 Tesla Roadster since you’ll have no roads to ride them on. It can go as far as making your ‘opinions’ become ‘straight facts’ in the ears of the people. “Dude it’s a fact, Imani even said it, Avocados are not kings of fruits, tomatoes are.” In my country, that’s ,100,000,000,. With that, you could; Build a house near the savannah. Get free coffee anywhere. Buy very high end apartments, the best of the best in the country. Most high end apartments with 6 bedrooms go for up to $300,000 tops. You could make it $30,000,000 with a pinch of effort. Aha, just bribe your way to deals, tenders and public funds. Travel the world. Assume you’re not rich, because technically you’re not. You might wake up to a financial crisis and all you can do with a mill is buy 10 Pack Oreo Cookies. Ask Venezuela Spend your next 4 years living in Kempinski with ALL services. Have you ever had your car stuck in snow, mud or sand?

Oh, God, yes! In 1978 i had an Alfa Romeo Algetta. GTV-6 TWIN TURBO — 450 hp & state-of-the-art for its era. I had just recently sold my Lamborghini Countach & needed a less expensive sports car so my wife wouldn't kill me … I was based in Stuttgart, Germany, my records were being maintained at Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy, with duty in Kenya. I shipped my car from Italy to the port of Mombassa. I took the train from Nairobi & picked up the car. Air conditioning was not standard on cars in Europe then but I had dealer installed AC — thank God!! The Kenya coastal plain is hell on Earth — hot, grotesquely humid & was under developed…the roads, what there were of them, were awful. About 75 miles inland I drove into a monsoon-like rain .. I was crawling along at about 15 mph when the road under me washed out. Just gone!! The water carried my car off the road, maybe 20 feet, where it hung up on exposed tree roots. The rain stopped, the water went down & I was stuck … the car settled into gooey mud half way up the sides … no one was around & I didn't have my pistol permit yet from the embassy so I was unarmed…right scary!! After about three hours a Kenyan army convoy carrying relief aid came along…I flagged them down … it took two big trucks to pull my car out of the muck, but in the process they pulled the front bumper off. But I got out & limped back to Nairobi. The Alfa people were awesome…my buddy in Vicenza contacted them for me and they sent a complete bumper assembly within just a few days & even had one of their trained mechanics fly in from Ghana to do the fix. I never did get all of that mud out of the car.

Why is Kona coffee so expensive and is the price warranted?

As a Hawaiian coffee farmer (not a gentleman farmer -- I fertilize, prune, harvest, process, roast, cup, bag and ship personally), I can add a bit of perspective. I'm in Puna (east side of the Big Island), not Kona, but this still applies. Not to be rude, because this is literally THE most common question I receive regarding Hawaiian coffee, but Bob Funk pretty much has it completely wrong. The number one reason Kona (and other Hawaiian) coffee is "expensive" is due to production costs. How can this be? Land, - Have you ever tried to buy land in Hawaii? Right, you probably thought you couldn't afford it. That's exactly the point: the real estate is valued higher than nearly any other property in any other coffee producing country in the world. High value on land means whatever you use it for needs to maximize that value. Fertilizer, ,/ equipment costs ,- Almost everything in Hawaii needs to be shipped in via ocean barge. Transportation costs are huge so goods are very costly. LABOR, - Believe it or not, Hawaii is a state among the United States, which means we have to comply with US federal regulations and minimum wage standards. Ever been to Kenya, Ethiopia, Honduras, El Salvador, Indonesia, etc.? The Fair Trade program is about the best it gets for these places. I assure you, those hard-working folks don't make $7.25 / hour. I pay people to help me harvest $.75 - $1.00 (US) per pound of coffee picked. It takes 7 - 8 pounds of coffee cherry (fruit) to produce 1 roasted pound. This means it costs up to $8 / lb just to get the beans off the trees. To compare, the current international C-market price of green (unroasted) ,arabica, coffee is about $1.50 (US) per pound. The farmer -- whether in Guatemala, Colombia, Burundi, etc. -- might get about $.85 of that. Are you starting to get the picture? It costs me about $14 just in strict farming costs to produce 1 roasted pound and that doesn't include my labor, marketing, electrical / gas for roasting, bags, a website, taxes, the farm mortgage, etc. Hawaiian coffee is being priced at a true cost of production + enough "profit" to make a living. It's not that Hawaiian coffee is "expensive" -- it's that the rest of the world's coffee is extremely undervalued. Everyone is just used to paying dirt cheap prices for their cup because most of the people that produce it are living in abject poverty. Do some people charge exorbitant amounts of money? Sure. Is it right, is it fair? Perhaps think of it this way: when you're looking to buy a bottle of wine, do you ever imagine the wealthy vineyard / winery owner driving his Mercedes up the driveway to a hilltop villa and then think to yourself, "Man, what a rip off! That person's just making a killing charging $60 a bottle."? No? Great. Then don't think ALL Hawaiian coffee farmers are gouging people on price. Maybe you'll be warranted to scoff at the price of coffee when you see coffee farmers driving Lamborghinis. It's laughable to see people act personally offended by the price of coffee yet never hesitate about the price paid for numerous products that cost them $20 and the company $.50 to manufacture. Is it "worth it"? That's up to you and you alone. Is it "warranted"? ABSOLUTELY. In my humble opinion... Allow me to put price in perspective: If you pay $32 for a pound of coffee, it will cost you about $4 to brew a 32 oz serving, or $1 per 8 oz. If you drink 2 cups / 16 oz per day, that $32 pound will last you about 2 weeks of yummy wake-up juice and cost you $2 / day. If you buy a bottle of wine for $10 and you drink 2 glasses (about 12 oz) per night, it lasts 2 days and costs you $5 / day. Now, what's your valuation of a $10 bottle of wine? Is that expensive, moderate, or cheap? What's your valuation of a $32 / lb coffee? Is that expensive, moderate, or cheap? Does the length of enjoyment ever factor into your perceived value? Do you see what I mean? Coffee is undoubtedly just as complicated, if not more, as wine regarding production and processing. And yet the perceived value isn't comparable. That's starting to change. I hope the above explanation offers just a hint of insight as to why. Cheers, B

What are the best companies to work for in Kenya and why?

Your companies. When you work hard you can buy yourself a Lamborghini not someone else.

For people that don’t flaunt their wealth, what’s a giveaway they’re secretly rich?

Rich people or “old money” know they have it, and usually dont need to tell people they have it. They will often go for quality and buying things that will last rather than bling and brand. Better to buy something that lasts 20 years and doesnt wear out. Rich people are often frugal and dont like to waste money. They have money, it doesnt mean they want to go out and spend it. I knew a guy who was a doctor and owned a 60 square mile ranch in western Australia and a house in Holllywood. Nice guy but one of the tightest people with money I have ever met. They probably have a daily “driver” such as a Range Rover or an SUV as they are practical. The Lamborghini or Ferrari is just for show. For recreation often they like to buy or pay for experiences rather than “stuff”. Things like a safari in Kenya or going to Antarctica or seeing the northern lights. Bungee jumping in new Zealand.

Have you ever bought the same brand and model of car more than once? What kind of car and what made you buy a second one?

Yes!! Alfa Romeo made a special limited edition of Algetta GTV Twin Turbo cars … as I recall, 40 hand built cars per year…they were fabulous machines, but unlike most high-end Italian sports cars these had no pernicious, unpredictable traits in their personalities…they were just sweet. I bought my first one in late 1978, a few months after selling my Countach…I actually had more fun on European roads with the Alfa than I did with the Lamborghini — it was easier to drive & didn't have the erratic acceleration of the bigger sports machine…lighter, more agile & almost as fast on top end… …and fuel mileage was actually reasonable. My wife hated the Countach but despised the Alfa even more…neither was a 'good second car when you have a family.” Anyway, my job took me to Kenya — alone again — for 18 months. She didn't want it in the garage while would be gone, and an Egyptian officer assigned at US European Command offered more than paid for it so I sold that one to him & banked the money. I did my tour in Kenya & returned to home station in Germany. I needed a sports car … like most people need oxygen … Alfa had ceased production of that series while I was gone but they had two left over…I bought one of them over the phone, transferred the money then our eldest daughter, then 6, and I flew to Italy to pick it up. The drive home to Stuttgart was thrilling!! The Alps high passes in spring are amazing. We stopped in Switzerland so my girl could play at the edge of a small glacier…fun!! We spent two more years based in Europe then I won a promotion to a job in Yuma Arizona…but the European specs Alfa couldn't come with us. It was a sad day for me when I accepted the money from one of the Italians at USEUCOM.. If Alfa made an updated version of that car in US specs today I'd buy another one tomorrow.

Non Americans: Who is your country's Kardashian?

In ,kenya Definitely its vera sidika. Vera has big butts, that's what made her famous. She has been involved in many controversies, She is the one of the biggest celebrities in kenya leaving in extravagant life and always posting the pictures of them in social media. Vera was also in Nairobi Diaries cast. Nairobi diary is a reality show that targets mostly youths in kenya. Vera also bleached her skin. She was a bit darker than this. Here are some of her pictures Apart from Vera another controversial Socialite is Huddah Monroe. Check out her pictures. These two ladies are always in constant beefs. I never understand what they really do. They always have fabulous lives but none of them have ever have a boyfriend or maybe they keep them secret but most leaked conversations of them with their ‘rich clients ‘ have been there. I can call them ‘superhoes’. They only posts pictures of them in Lamborghini but they don't post the owner. Mostly I suspect they roll with the richests in middle East or some old ‘mzungu’ (white man) somewhere who gives them the money. But it's okay they have their foundations helping people mostly children in slums.

What do I do now that I've accepted I am a prophet?

Do we actually have true prophets in the first place, I would foretell the death of a prime minister/ president of a country like prophet TB Joshua. I would perfome breath taking miracles such as miracle money, miracle petrol, instant weight loss and waking the dead as claimed by prophet Ubert Angel. I would exorcise all demons in all the vagrants in my neighbourhood like prophet Walter Magaya. I would make a miracle pregnancy in 3 days the baby is born, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa style. Apart from that, I would make my followers eat grass like prophet Daniel in South Africa as he did that as shown in the picture below In addition to that, I would have a private jet, a couple of Lamborghinis and probably a Ferrari. Sell anointing water to congregants and amass millions of dollars into my coffers!! To put the icing on the cake, I would ask female congregants to sit in the front row with no knickers the same way prophet Njohi in Kenya has done shown in the picture below That at least should be enough for people to realise that most of the so called prophets we have today are actually bogus and false..
