While Perodua’s upcoming D55L crossover SUV might be launched in 2021, that doesn’t mean you can’t stop dreaming about how you want to give your future Perodua a makeover.
As it is already on sale in Japan as the Daihatsu Rocky/Toyota Raize, this gives the Japanese tuning maestros a chance to show ways to flex on the little crossover.
Albermo, a customization house based in Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan, gained some fame online a few months ago as the proud brains behind the Lamborghini Urus-inspired Toyota RAV4 body kit and the Ferrari-inspired Toyota Prius body kit. This time around, they’re giving the Urus treatment on a smaller scale.
This time, they’ve set their sights on the Rocky/Raize/D55L and while the modifications aren’t as extensive as the RAV4 or even the Prius, it does look…extreme to say the least. Perhaps grafting something as huge as a Urus onto the small front of the Rocky makes it look very squished.
At the back, Albermo only adds a boot lid spoiler to complete the Lambo-esque design. It's just visual mods as performance-wise it's the same Rocky underneath.
All these don’t come cheap. The full set including the front bumper, rear spoiler, and honeycomb mesh grille cost JPY 156,000 (RM 6,160). That price doesn’t even include painting.
Apart from the little Rocky, Albermo has also announced a body kit for the newly launched 2020 Toyota Harrier. This body kit is also inspired by the Lamborghini Urus but so far only computer renderings are shown.
So, what do you think? Would you want to go with the Bulls with the upcoming Perodua SUV or just stick a Toyota/Daihatsu badge like the good ol’ days?
