  • Exterior Design- The added convenience of having a larger boot space in a sedan form certainly compromised the overall styling of the car compared to the sportier looking hatchback. The mundane looking rear end simply doesn’t match the sporty front end, and the boot lid spoiler appear to be an afterthought more than anything else.

  • 16-inch wheels- While the smaller wheels with higher profile tyres offer marginally improved ride quality, it unfortunately made the Ford Focus Sedan look as if it had skipped leg day.

  • Cramped Interior- Knee room at the rear is limited. Fitting 3 full sized adult at the back for long journey can be a challenge.

  • Performance- In typical Toyota fashion, 1.8-litre naturally aspirated engine feels outdated and could certainly use some extra grunt while the droning sound from the CVT transmission penetrates the cabin especially at high engine RPM.

  • Cabin space- It's definitely not the most spacious in its segment, feeling cramped on the inside despite the larger exterior dimensions than its rivals.

  • Interior Quality- Material used in the cabin especially the hard plastic on the dashboard leaves much to be desired. The foot-operated parking brake belongs in the 90's.
