So what does the Luxury Special Edition bring to the table?
Well, pretty much only visual enhancements. There's a new multi-piece bodykit that encapsulates a front splitter, side skirts, and a new rear bumper diffuser to give the SUV a sportier outlook.
The 20-inch wheels however, stay the same as they are on the Premium and Luxury variants. Capping off the look are a choice of four colours: Sonic Quartz, Sonic Titanium, Graphite Black Glass Flake, and Red Mica Crystal Shine.
Inside the leather-swathed interior, the RX 300 comes with a host of creature comforts that also includes an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-supporting infotainment system.
In terms of safety, the RX comes Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with these features:
Forward collision warning (FCW)
Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
Adaptive high beam system (AHS)
Blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert (BSM, RCTA)
Power comes from the 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine (8AR-FTS) that produces 238 PS and 350 Nm. Drive is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission - same like all other variants of the RX.
The RX 300 Luxury Special Edition starts from RM 421,909.50 (on-the-road prices without insurance, with 50% SST reduction until 30-June 2021). Bookings will be open from mid-January, with sales beginning next month. All vehicles are backed with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
