The Alfa Romeo Milano has made its official debut as the brand's inaugural BEV model and its most compact SUV, positioned below the Stelvio and middle-child, Tonale.
Measuring 4,170 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, the Milano β named after the city where Alfa Romeo was founded β is a compact SUV that goes up to other compact BEV SUVs such as the Smart #1, Volvo EX30 and Peugeot e-2008 in the European market.

Based on the Stellantis e-CMP2 platform which also underpins the Peugeot e-2008, the Milano will be offered at launch with 2 BEV variants - the base Elettrica with 156 PS and range-topping Elettrica Veloce with 240 PS.
Both BEV variants are powered by a 54 kWh battery which offers a max driving range of up to 410 km in the base model. The Milano can be charged via 11 kW (AC) and up to 100 kW via DC charging.

A third 'hybrid variant' has also been announced but no further details have been provided Alfa Romeo. However, a report by Automotive News Europe states that it will be a 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) variant that features a (134 PS) 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine aided by a 28 PS (starter generator) motor.
The same report adds that the hybrid variant will made available initially in front-wheel drive, before an AWD βQ4β variant featuring a rear-axle electric motor is launched later on.
Notably, the Milano may also be the last Alfa Romeo model to offer ICE variants, with the brand earlier stating that it only wanted to launch BEV models after 2025 and feature a complete BEV lineup after 2027.
Meanwhile, claiming optimal weight distribution and the lowest kerb weight in its segment; the Milano is claimed to offer superb driving dynamics, tuned no less by the team that developed the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA sports sedan.
The Veloce variant on the other hand ups the ante with a Torsen differential, lowered sports suspension, uprated anti-roll bars, 20-inch wheels and 380 mm with four-piston monobloc callipers at the front.
Though details are scarce for now, the Milano is expected to include SAE Level 2 ADAS assistance features replete with 360-degree parking sensors and a 180-degree rear camera.
Inside, the Milano boasts a driver-oriented interior with a 10.25-inch fully digital TFT screen and a central 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment. A further highlight of the interior is the air conditioning vents in the shape of a Quadrifoglio (four-leaf clover); optional Sabelt sports seats are also available.
The system is customizable and supports widgets for intuitive interaction with vehicle features. Alfa Connect Services offers advanced onboard connectivity and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Staying true to Alfa Romeo's roots, the Milano sports a design that includes the brand's signature βKamm tail,β muscular wheel arches, and the iconic 'Scudetto' shield.
Another trademark design feature is the '3+3' adaptive full-LED Matrix headlights.
The Alfa Romeo Milano will be produced at Stellantisβ Tychy plant in Poland; order books will open in Europe in Q3 2024.
