Audi e-tron launched in Vietnam, priced equal to RM 563k, up to 417 km range

Audi Vietnam launched the fully electric e-tron SUV at yesterday’s opening of the 2022 Vietnam Auto Show.

Prices start from 2.97 billion VND, which translates to around RM 563,000. Imported by authorized distributor Automotive Asia Limited, the battery EV SUV will be covered by a 3-year / unlimited mileage warranty while the high voltage battery is covered by an 8-year/160,000 km warranty.

Two variants are offered, the 71 kWh battery capacity 50 quattro and 95 kWh 55 quattro Advanced.

The 50 quattro makes 313 PS / 540 Nm, has a 336 km driving range while the 55 quattro Advanced makes 360 PS / 561 Nm, with a 417 km driving range under the WLTP test cycle.

The e-tron supports up to 11 kW of AC charging, while DC fast charging can be up to 150 kW.

Vietnam imposes a 70 percent import tax on vehicles imported from countries it doesn't have preferrential tariff / free-trade agreements with. However, battery EVs enjoy a lower 3 percent excise tax (standard rate is between 5 to 15 percent), valid until 2027.

Closer to home, Audi Malaysia is expected to make some announcements related to EV models in the near-term. Its sister-company Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has already previewed the VW ID.4, so it's only logical to expect a similar follow-up from Audi Malaysia.
