Chery opens flagship 4S centre in Kuantan; body and paint capabilities beyond sales and service

On 3-December 2023, Chery Malaysia opened its flagship 4S (sales, service, spare parts, shop for body and paint) showroom in Kuantan, Evenergy Auto Sdn Bhd; its first and largest showroom of its kind in the East Coast.

Serving a catchment of nearly 5 million people, Chery says the showroom serves the population of Pahang, Terengganu, as well as Kelantan.

During the grand opening, the Chery Omoda E5 battery-electric vehicle (BEV) was also previewed, continuing its tour here after we covered its media preview late last week. Evenergy Auto also became the first showroom to showcase the model.

Chery's first EV here is set to launch in Malaysia in Q1 2024.

Meanwhile, YAB Dato' Sri Haji Wan Rosdy Bin Wan Ismail, the Menteri Besar of Pahang, who was present to officiate the facility, highlighted the Kuantan Municipal Council's target to install 160 charging stations by 2025.

Also, Lee Wen Hsiang, the Vice President of Chery Malaysia, reiterated Chery's commitment to invest over RM 1 billion into Malaysia. Aligning itself with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (#NIMP2030), this investment focuses on promoting locally manufactured electric vehicles.
