The 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-door will likely be launched in Malaysia come the third quarter of this year (Q3 2024), says Naza Auto group chief executive officer Mohd. Rizal Jailan.

Speaking in an interview with New Straits Times, Rizal commented that the group is "planning to launch several new models this year, especially for Suzuki", adding that a "totally new Jimny" will be introduced by Q3 2024.

Leaving out special versions – of which the Rainforest Edition and Black Edition were most recently introduced – this leaves the 5-door Jimny as the only variant left in the line-up that's yet to be launch here.

The Jimny 5-door made its global debut in India in June 2023, before moving on to markets within the Asia-Oceania region. Its most recent launch within ASEAN took place in February 2024 in Indonesia, in which the car garnered over 1,200 orders within 3 days.

Specs of the Jimny 5-door should track with the global trend, i.e. shared with the 3-door version: 1.5-litre K15B naturally-aspirated engine (103 PS/134 Nm), AllGrip Pro 4WD system, and a choice between the 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmissions.

Prices for the Jimny 5-door in Malaysia are still a bit too early to speculate, though note that in Indonesia it's only 4 percent pricier than the 3-door car.
