Following the Rhino Edition, Naza Eastern Motors Sdn Bhd introduced two new Malaysian exclusive variants of the Suzuki Jimny in the country. Both variants are highly accessorised versions of the regular Jimny which are:
Jimny Rainforest Edition β RM 168,900
Jimny Black Edition β RM 171,900
Itβs worth noting the prices listed are before insurance and both variants are priced lower than the standard Jimny. For comparison, the regular Jimny is priced from RM 174,900 without insurance.
To mark the launch of the additional variants, Naza Eastern Motors hosted a Jimny Lifestyle Drive with more than 30 Jimny owners. The convoy was flagged off by Naza Automotive Group CEO, Mohd Rizal Jalian at Suzukiβs showroom in Petaling Jaya.
Rizal said, βWe have seen the SUV market in Malaysia growing over the last 10 years, so our focus remains with the existing models β the iconic Jimny and the Swift Sport, as they continue to resonate strongly with our customers.β
βWith the introduction of these new variants for Jimny, we are not only expanding our offerings but also reaffirming our dedication to providing vehicles that embody quality, reliability, and style,β he added.
Both the Rainforest Edition and Black Edition are powered by the same powertrains as the standard Jimny. Under the front hood is a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol 4-cylinder unit (102 PS/130 Nm) hooked to a 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all 4 wheels via the AllGrip Pro 4WD System.
The new additional variants to the Jimny feature distinctive design elements with trims and accessories intended specifically for the Malaysian market. Both variants are fully imported (CBU) from Japan like the standard Jimny,
The Rainforest Edition is distinguishable with a multi-roof rack, camouflage-finished front grille, front and rear mudflaps, and body decals. The interior is decked with camouflaged garnish almost throughout including around the rear-view mirror, inside door handle cover, and the carpet floor mats.
The Black Edition also receives a multi-roof rack but instead of going for the wild jungle side, this edition falls on the classier spectrum. It receives a carbon finish spare tyre cover and a matching carbon finish front grille.
The inside has a stylish audio garnish bumper, door handle covers, an assistant grip cover, and carpet floor mats. Customers can also opt for a free upgrade to two-tone Nappa leather seats for the Black Edition.
With the Jimny gaining two Malaysian exclusives that are also priced less than the standard Jimny, could these editions be more worth it?
