Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4Matic facelift, prices start from RM 1,918,888, on-the-road without insurance.

Exterior wise, subtle changes include a revised front bumper with the Maybach logo on the lower intakes, while the rear features updated taillight graphics. Wheels are 23-inch forged items.

There's also animated lighting projecting the Mercedes-Maybach emblem near the front and rear doors, alongside power closing doors.

Powering the GLS 600 is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering 557 PS and 770 Nm of torque. A 48-volt EQ Boost mild hybrid system temporarily adds 22 PS and 250 Nm for added performance, paired with a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The GLS features Airmatic air suspension augmented by a 48-volt E-Active Body Control roll stabilisation system that is said to enhanced comfort and stability.

As before, the Maybach GLS accommodates four passengers. With the front passenger seat adjusted to the "chauffeur" setting, rear passengers are able to enjoy 1.34 metres of space.

The outer rear seats are equipped with ottomans, memory functions, heating, ventilation, and massage features. These seats, along with a full-length centre console, are part of the First-Class rear cabin package.

This console houses folding tables, rear air vents, climate controls, and a refrigerator for storing beverages, with optional silver-plated champagne flutes available. Passengers can control various cabin functions through twin multimedia touchscreens mounted on the front seat backs, supplemented by a seven-inch Android tablet.

The car also includes the Designo leather package, featuring Nappa leather upholstery throughout, including the dashboard and door cards, as well as Designo piano black trim with elegant lines.

A 13-speaker, 590-watt Burmester surround sound system is standard, complete with a unique two-way intercom between front and rear areas and twin wireless headphones.

The updated Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) offers a refreshed display appearance and three different style configurations. Another update is the latest steering wheel generation incorporates capacitive buttons on the spokes.

Standard features include Multibeam LED headlights, heated and cooled cupholders, a panoramic tilt-only sunroof, powered rear side window sunshades, a 360-degree camera system, soft-close doors, and a hands-free powered tailgate.

In terms of safety, the Maybach GLS is equipped with the Driving Assistance Plus package that bundles autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and lane centring assist for Level 2 semi-autonomous driving. Nine airbags, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Impulse Side enhance occupant protection.
