Pro-Net (Smart Malaysia) has finally confirmed the price range of its upcoming Smart #1. The imported-from-China (CBU) electric SUV will range from RM 200,000 to RM 250,000, with three variants on offer – Pro, Premium, and Brabus.

The final price of each variant, however, will only be announced closer to its launch date in Q4 2023. Prices are on-the-road excluding insurance.

Customers can place their bookings by placing a refundable RM 1,000 booking on the Hello Smart app, which is now available for download at Google PlayStore, Apple AppStore, and Huawei App Gallery.

The first 501 bookings will enjoy RM 1,001 worth of charging credits, via Hello Smart app, which unlike apps of other EV makes, allows users to locate, initiate, and pay for public EV charging. Smart Malaysia says the Smart #1’s in-car navigation covers about 70 percent of public charging spots in Malaysia.

Standard features on the entry Pro variant include:

• 19" wheels
• Panoramic roof
• 49 kWh LFP battery
• 315 km range (WLTP)
• Exterior colours: Digital White, Laser Red, Cyber Silver, Quantum Blue, and Future Green
• Interior colour and trim: "After Dark" trim

Power output for the Pro variant is still yet to be announced but it’s likely to be be similar to the Premium variant, as mentioned below.

The Premium variant adds:

• CyberSparks LED + Matrix headlamps
• Illuminated front grille
• 66 kWh NMC battery
• 440 km range (WLTP)
• 272 PS / 343Nm single rear motor (rear-wheel drive)
• Additional exterior colour options: Atom Grey–Matte and Lumen Yellow
• Interior colour: Two-tone white and black "Dark Matter" trim

The highest Brabus variant adds:

• 428 PS / 543 Nm twin electric motors (all-wheel drive)
• 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds
• Shorter 400 driving range (compared to Premium variant, battery type and capacity is same as Premium variant)
• Brabus interior
• 7-colour combination exterior colours

Buyers who choose the Brabus variant have up to 7 two-tone colour combinations to choose from:

For Radiant Red roof – choose Atom Grey–Matte, Meta Black, or Cyber Silver as exterior colours.

For Black roof – choose Digital White, Laser Red, and Cyber Silver as exterior colours.

There is no two-tone paint for Atom Grey – Matte option, as it will come with matte body-coloured roof.

Smart Malaysia says it now 9 dealers to support the launch of the Smart brand by the fourth quarter of this year.

Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to launch the Smart brand, as well as the Smart #1.
