The Lexus RZ is currently showcased at the Toyota Beyond Zero event, marking its first appearance in Malaysia.

This exhibition highlights Toyota's multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, featuring a range of vehicles including hybrids (HEV), fuel cell (FCEV), hydrogen combustion, and battery-electric vehicles (BEV).

We were told that plans are underway for its launch here, although a timeline was not given. Also, bear in mind that the specifications of the unit you see here in the photos may not be representative of what will be offered here.

Preliminary details reveal that the RZ 450e is equipped with a 71.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of up to 440 km. AC charging goes up to 11 kW, while DC charging is rated at 150 kW.

With a peak powertrain output of 313 PS, courtesy of a 204 PS/266 Nm motor at the front and a 109 PS/169 Nm motor at the rear, the Lexus RZ 450e accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h.

Inside, there’s a 14.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, Ultrasuede upholstery, wireless charger, and a raft of USB-C outlets.

Safety wise, the Lexus Safety System+ suite of advanced driver assistance system features all-speed adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane tracing assist, and blind spot monitoring.

Pricing estimates for Malaysia have not been disclosed. In Thailand, the RZ 450e starts from THB 3.87 million baht (around RM 501k) to THB 4.19 million (around RM 543k).
