A year ago, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213) facelift made its global debut. Now, the updated model has been launched in India, in sole long-wheelbase (LWB) guise.
Three variants are on offer - E200, E220d, and E350d, with the latter getting a first-time-in-India AMG Line exterior accessories package.
Like it says on the tin, the E-Class LWB is dimensionally different from the regular car:
E-Class LWB vs E-Class dimensions
Dimension/Model
E-Class LWB
E-Class
Length (mm)
5,075 (+140 mm)
4,935
Width (mm)
2,065 (0)
2,065
Height (mm)
1,495 (+30 mm)
1,465
Wheelbase (mm)
3,079 (+140 mm)
2,939
The extra length and height also translate to a roomier interior, particularly for rear-seat occupants.
Exterior - sharper design
In its long form, India's E-Class gets the same visual treatments as its regular, short-wheelbase counterparts.
Avantgarde exterior is standard fitment
Like we've seen in the regular facelift, it gets an entirely new front fascia with a wider chrome grille sitting in between sleeker LED headlights.

Round the sides, there's new fixed glass sections sitting behind the redesigned, larger rear doors. The C-pillars - now featuring new emblems - gently tapers into a rear that's fitted with new tail lamps sitting atop a refreshed bumper.
And true to form, the AMG Line kit the range-topping E350d variant wears comes with a more aggressive look encapsulating AMG-spec front and rear bumpers, diamond-pattern grille and 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Beyond the obvious extra space inside, the steering wheel, dashboard, infotainment system, and seats are new.
In range-topping E350d trim, the E-Class LWB comes with a couple of 12.3-inch screens - one as a fully-digital instrument cluster, and the other as the MBUX-equipped touchscreen infotainment system.
Other features include a Burmester surround sound system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless chargers, and also a removable touchpad on the centre armrest.
Indians will also be spoilt for choice when it comes to interior trims and upholstery, ranging from just black, to dual-tone beige with brown/blue inserts to match open-pore oak wood trims that are available in either grey, black, or light brown.
There's also a nifty electronic sunblind at the back
Safety-wise, the updated E-Class comes with 7 airbags, active parking assistant, 360-degree cameras, and Pre-Safe.
Powertrain - retained from before
Air Body Control air suspension system is available on the E 350d
All variants retain their previously-employed engine and transmission combo, as below:

Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift in Malaysia
The regular-sized E-Class, now already in Thailand
Although it's an interesting car, there's no chance the LWB E-Class will reach here.
To recap, Malaysia still sells the pre-facelift model, with prices starting from RM 318k for the E200 Avantgarde, RM 367k for the E300 Exclusive Line, and RM 385k for the E350 AMG Line.
