Lotus Cars Malaysia raises the pricing for the Eletre and Emira range due to weak Ringgit 01

Due to the weak Ringgit against major foreign currencies, Lotus Cars Malaysia has had to revise the pricing of its electric Eletre SUV and the premium Emira sports car, leading to a rise in prices.

The initial indicated pricing announced during the Malaysian launch in April for the mid-range Eletre S has been increased to RM 698,000 (up by RM 50,000) while the range-topping Eletre R now costs RM 838,000 (up by RM 40,000). Prices listed for the Eletre are applicable in both Peninsular Malaysia and Langkawi as EVs are currently exempted from tax and duties.

As for the base Eletre, the pricing will be announced in due time as this variant will not be available until at least 2025.

Moving onto the Emira, pricing has been revised to RM 1,095,000 (Peninsular Malaysia) and RM 509,000 (Langkawi) for the recently introduced 4-cylinder Emira i4 First Edition. However, limited units are still available at the introductory price of RM 998,800 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meanwhile, the Emira V6 First Edition now costs RM 1,289,000 in Peninsular Malaysia (up by RM 83,200) and RM529,000 in Langkawi (up by RM 50,200). The automatic version of the Emira V6 First Edition now retails at RM 1,309,000 in Peninsular Malaysia (up by RM 83,200) and RM 539,000 in Langkawi (up by RM 45,200). Given the Emira’s combustion engine, duties and taxes will apply for peninsular Malaysia.

“Better late than never.” Some despise it, others begrudgingly agree with it but he swears by it… much to the chagrin of everyone around him. That unfortunately stems from all of his project cars not running most of the time, which in turn is testament to his questionable decision-making skills in life. A culmination of many wrongs fortunately making a right; much like his project cars on the rare occasions they run, he’s still trying to figure out if another project car is the way to go.
