For those who think the Porsche Taycan needs extra space in the rear, well, here’s the stunningly beautiful 2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. The second shooting brake Porsche model after the Panamera Sport Turismo, the Taycan Cross Turismo isn’t just handsome on regular roads, it has (mild) off-roading capabilities too!
The best part? Malaysian pre-orders are now opened with the Cross Turismo launching in the second half of 2021.
Based on the Taycan electric saloon, the Taycan Cross Turismo gains a sexy-looking butt with up to 1,212 litres of boot space with seats folded flat (with the seats up: 446 litres). Rear passengers also get to enjoy 47 mm more rear headroom compared to the regular Taycan.
This being a more adventure-looking EV, the shooting brake comes with an Off-Road Design package which is equipped with flaps on the corners of the front and rear bumper as well as the end of the side sills. These flaps provide protection from stone chips so, you don’t have to worry about the paintwork.
Meanwhile, the interior is carried over from the regular Taycan with the familiar triple display set-up. Opt for the Off-Road Design package and you’ll get a compass installed on the dashboard.
There are four variants of the Taycan Cross Turismo, and all variants feature two motors and all-wheel drive as standard. The powertrain set-up is the same as the regular Taycan.

All variants of the Taycan Cross Turismo are equipped with the same two-deck 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus that is also on the certain variants of the regular Taycan. Just like its saloon twin, there are two charging ports on the Taycan Cross Turismo, one for AC charging, another for DC.
For those seeking to take the Taycan Cross Turismo off the slightly beaten course, Porsche introduces a fifth drive mode – Gravel. The other four being Range, Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus.
Under Gravel mode, the car’s springs and dampers are adjusted to compensate for the rougher terrain. Power delivery is controlled via the rear two-speed transmission which cleverly distributes torque to provide optimal grip.
As it is still a luxury electric car, the Cross Turismo comes with ADAS which are bundled under the Porsche InnoDrive system which includes adaptive cruise control, active lane keep assist, and intersection assist (with an acoustic warning or braking intervention).
Production of the Taycan Cross Turismo has started and it will be launched in five key markets (USA, UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany) soon. Interested Malaysian buyers can place an order for this sexy Porsche at all four Porsche Centres nationwide.
